1, 2, 3...GREYHOUNDS!
At our JROTC high school elective program, you will be taught how to become a better citizen, a great leader, and a better YOU. The core values are at the heart of JROTC. You will not only become a disciplined and strong cadet, but you will make new friends and memories too. Many cadets say that JROTC is the funniest class a student can take in high school. Students who participate in JROTC take classes that focus on study skills, history, citizenship, military drills, and physical fitness among many other things, and we are taught by retired military instructors.
IS JROTC HARD/ TRAINING AS HARD AS IT SOUNDS?
Well, the course is demanding, but most of the students who make an effort really enjoy the challenge and thrive on the hard work and discipline. Most cadets will even end up liking the hard work and go on to change their lifestyle because of it.
IS THE PROGRAM FREE?
On occasion a cadet is required to pay for a field trip, but the course itself is free.
DOES JROTC HELP WITH COLLEGE?
In addition, JROTC service can be a real boost to a college admissions application. Admission offices are typically interested in students that demonstrate interest and experience in leadership, and JROTC is an excellent opportunity to gain this skill.
